Let John Alone!

I was looking through my News Feed earlier in the week and I was pretty dumbfounded by what I saw. There was at least 5 Queen fan sites sharing what seemed to be a recent photo of the estranged bass player John Deacon out and about in London, allegedly. He had changed A LOT, but everyone ages with time. Lots of Queen fans were wondering if he was still alive and now they had got the proof that they needed! After 18 years of disappearance from the public eye he had been spotted, and very much and alive and well.

However, I was going to post this photo but then I had a change of heart. It looked like the photo was taken for a tabloid newspaper, who always post pure garbage. He looked very annoyed, and aware he was being watched. It's almost like harassment in a way, and stalking. Also, it's a pure invasion of privacy, and violation of his human rights. People should bear in mind he left Queen because he had enough, and probably thought the band wasn't going to be the same without Freddie. He wanted to retire and live his life in peace. But now this picture, posted on Twitter with the tag #BreakTheInternetForRealThisTime, has caused an uproar. Half say it should be taken down and just to leave the poor guy alone, and the other half say that it's good to see him alive and well, but I guarantee you he won't coming back any time soon.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone Brian May and Roger Taylor stated that communication with John was very rare and he has almost 'no social contact' with them, but he does handle the financial affairs.

So to conclude, I say we should let John live in peace. His privacy should be respected and the photo should be taken down. However, I could also argue that Queen fans are rejoicing at seeing a brand new photo of the former bassist, and it can cause excitement. But in the end, it looks like someone was stalking him for a reaction, and he/she got their reaction. But they wouldn't like it if they were being stalked, would they?
